Husam Nadhim is an Iraqi film composer and sound designer based in Baghdad, creating original scores for film and television.

Most recently, Husam composed the original score for the Iraqi television drama Layl Al Banafsaj, directed by Ali Fadhil and broadcast during Ramadan 2026. His film and television credits also include Alwakeel, 90 Days, The Cave, and Family X. His work on the short film Earth is Weeping, Its Water are Tears was featured at the 2022 Red Sea International Film Festival.

In 2024, Husam was selected for the Red Sea Labs Music & Sound program at the Red Sea International Film Festival, where he worked under composer Simon Franglen, known for his work on Avatar: The Way of Water. He has also participated in international workshops focused on film composition and sound, further developing his approach to scoring for visual storytelling.

Husam’s approach to film music combines orchestral, electronic, and regional musical elements, with a particular interest in creating atmospheric and textural scores that support narrative and character. His work spans film, television, and sound design, with ongoing collaborations across Iraq and the wider Middle Eastern film industry.
